One man’s vision, a community’s strength, and a mission to serve humanity.

Ansary Muhammed is a respected community leader, humanitarian and youth advocate, and the Founder and Director of Merciful Servants, a Queensland-based not-for-profit supporting people experiencing homelessness, families facing hardship and vulnerable community members.

Originally from Fiji, raised in New Zealand and now based in Australia, Ansary has dedicated more than 16 years to community service. What began with providing meals to people experiencing homelessness has grown into a volunteer-driven organisation supporting approximately 600–700 people each week across Woodridge and Brisbane.

A father and former junior sports coach, Ansary is passionate about youth development, sport, leadership and community connection. He encourages young people from diverse backgrounds to volunteer, build confidence and leadership skills, and give back to their communities.

Ansary has also supported initiatives including the Unity Garden in Crestmead and the Muslim Tradies Network, creating opportunities for people from diverse backgrounds to connect and contribute.

As a Talim Legacy Youth Ambassador, Ansary brings his experience, compassion and community networks to support TLY's work in football, leadership, wellbeing and cultural connection, inspiring young people to take positive pathways and become leaders in their communities.

“Life is temporary. What matters is what we do in between. If we can put a smile on someone's face, feed someone who is hungry or inspire a young person to do good, then we have achieved something meaningful.”

Ansary's contribution has been recognised through being named a Brisbane Festival Community Hero in 2024 and a finalist for the 2025 QCOSS Impactful Awards.
